The Nissan Cube offers great functionality and more!

July 28, 2010 Featured No Comments

I recently made a trip to one of my favorite Nissan dealers in Chicago to test drive a few new models.  I had heard about the Cube, but didn’t think too much about it.  When I got to the store, there was something about this boxy looking vehicle that drew me in.  Thus, I decided to take a test drive to see what all the fuss is about!

One big praise of this car is the amazing head room that it has, which offers ease getting into and out of it.  Often times, with my current sedan, trying to get my toddler buckled up in his seat leaves me hitting my head on the door when leaning to strap him in, then again when getting back out.  With the Cube, this won’t happen.  It may seem like a small thing, but if you’ve ever whacked your head when you’re in a hurry to leave somewhere, it can leave you uttering some words that would tell someone in ear shot you are not very happy!

The Cube also drives very well.  The CVT (continuously variable transmission) allows you to switch gears easily, simply because it’s gearless.  You can change from a low to medium speed without problems.  Also, the 2010 Cube brakes and steers very well.  When I compare it to another used cars Lake County model I recently test drove, I am astounded at how well the Cube performs by comparison.  When I had to use the brakes with a little force during a close call, they slowed the car down with ease and safety!

Also, there are many useful interior features that come with the base Cube.  I wouldn’t characterize the interior design as luxurious by any means, but I am a more No frills driving person…I don’t need all the bells and whistles often associated with more expensive models.  Comfy seating, a good stereo, and gauges that are easy to use are just fine for me!  The Cube has all this and much more!

See for yourself by taking an afternoon to test drive one at your Nissan dealers in Chicago.  The Cube’s driving experience may surprise you!
