Nissan Leaf more buzzworthy than Volt and priced lower

August 27, 2010 Featured No Comments

The Chicago Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt are two battery powered cars set to hit center stage when they hit their respective dealerships in the upcoming months.  They’ve both generated a lot of press and their makers hope they do very well when it comes to actual sales.  Google trends has been following their “buzz”- let’s see what they’ve found out.The report shows Google’s tracking since April, and the Leaf has been searched more times through Google than the Volt.  It also has more online related news articles.  However, the recent price announcement on the Volt has generated some increased buzz from the press; that’s to be expected, most everyone’s #1 factor in seeking out additional information about a car is the price.  If you know you can’t afford it, you’re probably not going to research it much further?

To further illustrate the online trend of the Leaf and Volt, a report from earlier this summer stated that the Leaf’s Facebook page had 54,000 fans and the Volt’s had 24,000.  This was in June and these actual numbers have probably changed, as new people join Facebook everyday!   One fact to note is that these Google trends do not have any ties to actual sales, but they may be a predictor.  If a car is generating a lot of online buzz, it’s probably going to be a hot sale item at your Nissan Chicago dealership.  Actual sales numbers, however, will be the best example of how they’re doing!

The Chicago Nissan Leaf has plenty of great features and amenities to attract the environmentally conscious driver.  It’s an all electric car that’s a good choice for a family.  It can sit five people and has a roomy cabin and cargo space.  It’s a great choice for urban driving, since the Leaf will travel up to 100 miles on a full charge.  It takes 8 hours to fully charge, so you might opt for something different if you have to drive farther distances to work or like to take scenic road trips in the summer.

The Nissan Leaf has generated a lot of buzz and is a stylish car for the right owner!  It’ll be at your Nissan Chicago dealership as a 2011 model.
